Sunday Supper - Granny's Dinner

After Grandpa Dreher passed away in 1977, Granny came to live at Mom & Dad’s house the following year.

My first husband and I had purchased a mobile home and Mom & Dad kept it when we moved away. Granny came to live in that.

Granny went to church with Mom every once in a while, but not on a regular basis. So, sometimes Mom would ask Granny if she minded fixing Sunday dinner for the family.

This was one of the meals that Granny made frequently in the summer. Cabbage and potatoes came from the garden. So the only ingredient that had to be purchased was the ham.

To this day, it’s one of my favorite meals, and I can’t help but think of Grandpa Dreher [who loved it] and my Granny whenever I make it.

Hmmm….come to think of it, it’s probably about time to put this on to cook again!

Salt & Pepper to taste
