Treasure Chest Thursday - Henry's Cabinets

Henry Condar Dreher, Jr. [1902-1977] was a carpenter extraordinaire. He not only built houses, but was a master cabinetmaker, as well. Above is one of a pair of hanging corner cabinets that he made my Mother back in the 1960's. The workmanship is absolutely gorgeous! [That's his portrait hanging to the right of the cabinet.]

When I was growing up, Mother had these hanging in the dining room corners, facing one another. Today they hang in her living room, once more facing one another. In one she has some of her favorite scupltures, and in this one a tea service from Germany.

Henry was my grandfather.
